The Salvation Army began the work at the corner of Weston Road and York Avenue in 1921 as the Mount Dennis Corps. With the opening of the current building in 1971, it was renamed York Temple and finally York Community Church in 2005.
Food & other assistance: Sometimes the month lasts longer than you money. The food bank provides assistance to people unable to afford basic necessities. We also provide referrals to the thrift store for clothing an furniture.
Community Lunch: Mondays 12:00-1:00 PM (except on public holidays): A free lunch for anyone in the community made by caring and qualified volunteers.
Bread Program: Thursday mornings at 9:00 we give away free bread generously donated by Cobs Bread. First come-first serve. Bring your own bags!
